Sample an external synth with the Auto Sampler
1 / 8
- NoteConnect MIDI: Tonverk MIDI OUT → the external device's MIDI IN. Connect audio: the device's outputs → Tonverk IN A/B (or USB audio). Select the sound to sample on the device.
- PressPress SAMPLING, choose AUTO SAMPLER with UP/DOWN, then press YES. (If the Recorder was used this session, press LEFT first to reach SAMPLING SELECT.)
- NoteSet the sampling source (SRC) and the MIDI channel the external device listens on (MIDI CHAN).
- PressPress YES to play a test note — the Auto Sampler measures and compensates latency and release time automatically (NO cancels the test). Adjust manually with LTNCY and REL if needed.
- PressPress RIGHT and set the note range (START, END), SAMPLE EVERY (interval in semitones — 1 = every semitone, 3 = every third), and VEL LAYERS (velocity layers per note).
- PressPress RIGHT and set LENGTH — how long each sampled note is held.
- PressPress YES, name the multi-sample (the suggested name is editable), then press YES again to start the automated sampling run.
- NoteResults are saved to USER/MULTI-SAMPLED INSTRUMENTS: an .elmulti instrument for the Multi Player machine plus one .wav with all notes for the Single Player. With several velocity layers, set VELOCITY TO VOL to LOG or LIN for best results.
Result: A playable multi-sampled instrument of the external synth.
